The Rise of Minimalist Beauty: Why Less is Becoming More

Analysis

Simpler routines and ingredient transparency are the latest wellness trends taking hold.

As advocates of health from the inside out, here at Daisi Jo Reviews we’re always trying to curate the most nourishing routines. Lately we’ve noticed a distinct shift towards minimalism that really resonates with our core values.

According to reports, today’s conscious consumers are focusing less on volume and more on ingredient necessity. Instead of 10-step extravaganzas, simplified skin, hair and body regimens are gaining steam. Personally it feels so freeing to stick to just a few multi-talented heroes!

This dovetails with rising demands for openness from brands. More than ever, we gals want full disclosure on what’s truly going into our go-to’s. It seems the days of mystery formulas stuffed with questionable extras are ending. Now fewer, high-performance ingredients take spotlight – and rightfully so!

As predicted by Mintel in their 2023 Beauty and Personal Care report, shoppers will judiciously stock their vanities with strictly essential players that nourish our most superficial concerns. For us, that means solely stocking necessities like cleansers, moisturizers and SPF which efficiently work multiple jobs. (1)

Manufacturers have clearly caught onto this earth-loving energy as well. Studies show products average less additives yearly since the 2000s. Multitaskers abound where formerly single-use components reigned. Think brightening serums that hydrate too!

So in this new minimalist normal, less really is more. Fewer products, ingredients and regimens respect our wellness mission while lightening our load. Simpler living is simply better – for our skins, spirits and planet. Here’s to intentionally curated simplicity!
